An annual flu vaccine is the best way to reduce your chances of getting the seasonal flu and spreading it to others. CDC recommends that everyone 6 months of age and older receive an annual flu vaccine. For more than 50 years, hundreds of millions of Americans have safely received seasonal flu vaccines. What should I do if I think I am having a severe reaction to a flu vaccine?

- Join a Community emergence response team program and get trained on basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations.
- FEMA offers online or in person lessons on “You are the help until help Arrives” designed to teach you how to save a life before a professional arrives.
- During a disaster donate to a an organization and volunteer to respond to disasters and help your fellow Americans.
- Teach preparedness to your family members and keep them prepared.
- Take free online independent study course through FEMA’s Emergency Management Institute and gain more knowledge to help your community become more prepared.
