After 17 years at Intact Insurance Specialty Solutions and over three decades in the insurance industry, Underwriting Director Jan Newey is retiring on August 27th, 2021!
Surprisingly, Jan did not intend to have a career in insurance, but stumbled into building a rewarding and successful career with its share of twists and turns. We are happy to share with you a personal account of Jan’s professional journey through the years.
While many of us are adjusting to working remote these days, our friend and colleague Roger Ferguson is also gearing up for an adjustment. After 44 years at OneBeacon (and legacy companies), Roger retired on March 31.

For Sandy Farris, Underwriting Manager at OneBeacon Entertainment, the answer is 3 and 2 (plus an entire continent as a territory– more on that later). Now after 41 years in the insurance industry and a career spanning the globe and several twists and turns, Sandy will be retiring next week on July, 13.
