Final 2017 Product Fair: Minneapolis Moments

Throughout the year, our businesses have collaborated with the marketing & communications team to plan and host local product fairs. These events typically feature several units assembled in a trade show format, connecting one-on-one with local producers. Meanwhile, invited agents and brokers enjoy connecting with their front-line underwriters informally, while also learning about OneBeacon’s other specialty capabilities firsthand.

Last Wednesday, Minneapolis’ Minikahda Club played host to our final event of the year, attended by Environmental, Financial Services, IMU (both ocean and inland), Management Liability, Specialty Property and Technology. The event drew over 60 producers and was considered a success by all.

Plans are already underway to develop next year’s schedule. In the meantime, enjoy browsing these photos of the Minneapolis event!

Boston Producers Meet Team OneBeacon

Recently, eight business units assembled “trade-show” style at Boston’s Langham Hotel to showcase our specialty capabilities to local producers. Representatives from Aon, Marsh, CRC Swett and other distribution partners stopped by for breakfast and to get better acquainted with OneBeacon. Each producer already works with one of our groups, so this forum was a chance to learn about our broader capabilities.

This was OneBeacon’s second product fair, modeled on a successful event organized by St. Louis’ IMU team late summer. Like the inaugural fair, the Boston event resulted in new business submissions within 24 hours. And importantly, it personally connected producers with people they’ve worked with from afar. According to an RT Specialty participant, “It was great to meet Kansas-based Kellie Murray, who I’ve worked with for years.” Kellie is a media liability specialist from our Entertainment group who handles the Eastern region. And the face-to-face connections were welcomed by the OneBeacon hosts as well, who appreciated meeting their underwriting and risk control colleagues from different segments and locations.

Next month, a holiday-themed product fair will be hosted in Chicago, with ten businesses participating. And as we look ahead, we plan to establish a product fair calendar and toolkit to export this best practice across OneBeacon!
