Scholars by the Seashore

Recently several OneBeacon Technology team members headed to the Jersey shore. No, they weren’t enjoying a little summer beach time; in fact, it was a back-to-school opportunity. OBTI was in New Jersey sponsoring a community golf outing that benefits local Villanova University student scholarships.

Organized by the Villanova alumni association’s Monmouth/Ocean chapter, this annual event gathers local businesses and alumni for a friendly tournament and dinner at the Deal Golf and Country Club. Representing OBTI were Lloyd Takata, Teodor Dhami and Christine Leung-Ting. One of the evening’s highlights was viewing the NCAA men’s basketball championship trophy captured by the Wildcats last April.

OneBeacon was proud to support this opportunity to help educate the next generation of business leaders and applauds those who organized this worthy event.

Family Fun with an OBTI Insured

Recently, OneBeacon Technology’s Jack Fletcher spent time with one of our insureds. No, it wasn’t in his usual loss control review and inspection role. It was as a valued participant in our customer’s inaugural family day and health fair. Jack was invited to provide safety resources for materials handling on the job as well as at-home safety tips. Go West, OneBeacon Tech!

OneBeacon Technology’s West Coast team recently sponsored The Insurance Professionals of Santa Barbara’s (IPSB) annual Industry Night. Themed as a Western barbecue, it was an opportunity to network and enjoy the atmosphere at the local Carriage & Western Art Museum. Larry Rasmussen Honored at San Diego I-Day!

Congratulations to IMU’s Larry Rasmussen, who recently received the San Diego Insurance Professional of the Year Award! This annual recognition was presented by the Insurance Brokers Association (IBA) of San Diego and coincided with the well-attended local I-Day. Larry is an Underwriting Manager with our IMU Inland Marine team and is based in southern California. This award is given to an insurance company professional in recognition of their years of service, dedication and commitment to the IBA and the insurance industry overall. We’re all proud of you, Larry!

Tech Team Connects!

OBTI 2016!

Last week, OneBeacon Technology Insurance (OBTI) gathered in Las Vegas for its annual business conference. Underwriting, claims, risk control and service group partners spent two days discussing new products, emerging risks, claims scenarios, sales and marketing, among other topics. Through general sessions including guest speakers, smaller breakouts and networking time, it was an opportunity to connect with OBTI friends old and new. The group photo includes an event memento – branded OBTI sunglasses!
