IMU’s Marketing Campaign- It’ll Knock Your Socks Off

Last month, IMU’s Boston team decided to shake things up by organizing a fun marketing campaign for their producers.  They came up with the idea to send IMU branded socks to each of their agents with a note that read “We’ll knock your socks off with exceptional service and pricing. Call IMU today!” As you can see in the photo, the socks were bright and fun, as IMU’s hope was to have the socks put a smile on everyone’s face.

“The idea came to me while riding home on the train,” Meredith Atwood, New England Regional President, said. “I wanted to do something different and provide something useful.”

This is the first snail mail campaign the region has done and it was a huge success. The team received nothing but positive feedback, in addition to some great pictures! Below are just a few of the responses the IMU team received.

“Thank you so much for my socks!!! I love them! Can’t wait to wear them at the marina!!”

“Love, love, love the socks! Wondering what the flags meant hopefully not S.O.S. …HA”

“Thanks so much for sending me those oh so brightly colored IMU socks! (I hope they will stretch onto my size 13 hoofs and if not I know my granddaughter will love them!)”

“Thanks for sending- classic look! Now I need to find a yacht club to join to wear them to…”

“Sometimes we get gifts from companies that have little use, but I love these and will wear them all of the time!”

“I got my socks! Thanks so much- I love them and I’m going to look up the flags to see what they spell…such a great idea- I cracked up!”

Mike Miller Visits New England Offices

As Mike mentioned in his Town Hall webcast, last week he traveled East to visit our New England offices.  Mike began his trip in Farmington, CT on May 10 and then headed north to visit our Massachusetts offices in Boston, Canton and Quincy (Dewar) on May 11.

At each location, employees enjoyed the opportunity to meet with Mike in town hall sessions, where he discussed his views on the first quarter as well as where the company is heading. He also answered questions from employees and was able to tour our local space and speak to employees individually.
