Last week, members of OneBeacon gathered in Dallas, Texas for the 2015 Professional Liability Underwriting Society (PLUS) annual conference. OneBeacon was a silver sponsor at the event, which was attended by five of our groups including Technology, Management Liability, Financial Institutions, Healthcare and Design Professionals Liability.
Members of our Actuarial and Human Resources teams recently attended an actuarial career fair held at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis. Now in their second year exhibiting at the event, the OneBeacon group included Actuarial’s Brad Koenen, Megann Kellom, FCAS, and Lars Johnson, ACAS, along with Senior Human Resource Manager Michelle Martin.
Every month, the Risk Management team of OneBeacon Healthcare Group hosts complimentary webinars for its policyholders. These webinars, which run 60-90 minutes, often provide continuing education credits (CEUs) for participants. With topics ranging from nutritional risks in healthcare to obtaining informed consent, policyholders are treated to an information-packed session, which includes resources and tips to apply their learning in their own healthcare facilities. Each webinar is recorded and housed on a password-protected portal, and available on demand for policyholders to listen at their convenience.
The next webinar, titled “Effective Documentation Practices in Long Term Care,” is taking place on October 13 at 1pm EDT. Those in the Farmington office can view the presentation in the Nickel Conference Room. Remote participants can register here.
Thanks to your help, it’s becoming much easier to identify and recognize your colleagues through our employee directory.
We’re excited to share that almost half of our employees have added a photo to their personal My Site profile within our employee directory. We credit many of these “new faces” to the great work of the nine offices (totaling 536 employees!) who recently hosted a My Site photo day. The coordination and participation of these groups resulted in new headshots for many of our employees. We’re especially excited that the photo days will continue with our Farmington and Plymouth offices hosting events on October 7 and 8, respectively!
Members of our Canton office recently hosted a fundraising event where they invited participants to enter for a chance to win a variety of themed gift baskets and enjoy popcorn and Italian ice. Proceeds from the event are being matched by our Charitable Trust and will benefit the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation (IICF), a nonprofit that coordinates our industry’s efforts to give back through volunteering and grants.
