The Greater Boston OneBeacon team recently joined 200+ industry colleagues at the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation’s (IICF) annual ping-pong tournament. This event is one of two IICF Boston fundraisers in support of grants to local nonprofits. After an evening of fun, friendly and competitive matches, the Greater Boston team finished undefeated! They couldn’t have done it without the enthusiasm from their on-site cheer squad!
A group from the Plymouth office attended the Minnesota Twins game last Sunday. OneBeacon employees, including their families and friends, cheered on the Twins who overcame a rough start to defeat the Toronto Blue Jays in a cross-border battle with a final score of 13-7. (Our friends north of the border can still feel good that the two teams split the four-game series.) The Twins’ offense included contributions from Eddie Rosario, with two home runs, and Joe Mauer, who hit a grand slam!
Although the temperature at opening pitch was a bit cool, it was a clear day that turned into a spectacular September afternoon—perfect for watching a ballgame. The festivities also continued after the game was over as children were invited to run the bases for Kids Day.
Earlier this month, our Denver office hosted a clothing drive for those affected by Hurricane Harvey. The drive went from September 1st through the 12th. The office came together for those affected to collect a car full of donations. The outpour of support from our employees cannot be put into words.
Earlier this month, the Boston office concluded their “Trekking Across Canada” summer walking program. The teams started in Halifax and some made it all the way on to Toronto. The winning team with 1,600 miles was “Firmly-Intact Trailblazers, eh?” which included Roger Ferguson, Akito Miyazaki and Paul Newman. Additionally, the participants also tracked their steps individually, and the person with the leading number of steps was…Paul Newman! Participants had a blast competing in this friendly race throughout the summer months.
Earlier this month, the Canton office celebrated summer with a fun-filled day of activities and cool treats. The event included an Italian ice vendor, some fresh cut watermelon, chips and outdoor lawn games. It was a great opportunity to get some fresh air during the work day and have fun with coworkers over a game of cornhole and delicious snacks! Check out the photos below from all of the fun!
