This week, we recognize the 2020 Bravissimo winning teams and their outstanding achievements that made a significant and lasting impact on our company in 2020. Leading up to their virtual celebration later this month, we’ll be highlighting each winning team here on the intranet to showcase their outstanding work.
Today we are showcasing Rely Network/On Side Restoration, Intact Prestige and RSA Acquisition teams. We are pleased to announce that Joshua Boomgaarden from Intact Insurance Specialty Solutions was part of the RSA Acquisition team that won.
Rely Network/On Side Restoration

Intact and On Side Restoration (On Side) joined forces in August of 2019 to strengthen repair and restoration services for personal and commercial property claims customers across Canada. Through the accelerated efforts of the acquisition team, Intact had officially acquired 100% of On Side Restoration by December 2020.
Thanks to their incredible hard work, the project team achieved the following milestones:
- On Side increased its revenues by 23%
- On Side Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation and Amortization (EBITDA) increased by 60%
- On Side’s Net Promoter Score (NPS) finished at close to 60% in 2020 and IFC’s overall NPS in property is at a historical level due to improvement in On Side’s performance and selection of the best restoration firms in the industry
- By leveraging video, the time it takes to confirm coverage reduced from 3 days to less than 4 hours
Launch of Intact Prestige

Following Intact’s acquisition of The Guarantee Company of North America, a cross-functional team was set up to launch a new brand, Intact Prestige, within six months of closing. The project team worked tirelessly to integrate both existing and new underwriting and claims employees and build broker relationships during the pandemic under a new brand.
Because of their hard work, the completion of this project resulted in:
- Successful integration of Guarantee GOLD employees
- Continued offering a competitive product for high-net-worth customers
- The launch of a new brand
- Fully operational Prestige property damage claims team with full support from Intact on specialized operations
- Conversion of Guarantee GOLD Policies beginning the summer of 2020
Project Regent – The Acquisition of RSA

Project Regent was the code name for the RSA acquisition, by far the largest acquisition we’ve ever done, and indeed also the most complex, involving multiple countries, partnering with Scandinavian leader Tryg, and pulling it all off virtually, during a global pandemic.
The project winners were instrumental in the structuring and due diligence for the transaction, and bringing the deal to the November 18, 2020 announcement. They worked on the bid process, identifying and clearing potential risks, financing, legal agreements and communicating the acquisition both internally and externally.
Acquiring RSA’s strong brands and businesses enables Intact to:
- Expand our leadership position in the competitive Canadian P&C industry;
- Bolster our leading North American specialty lines platform and add international expertise in Europe;
- Deploy our competencies at scale in the U.K. and Ireland where RSA has a leadership position; and
- Strengthen our outperformance with increased investment in our core capabilities of data, risk selection, claims and supply chain management.
RSA accelerates our strategy, and provides a platform to fuel future growth and outperformance for IFC. A big thank you to the Project Winners and all those involved in getting the deal agreed and announced.
