Please join us in welcoming Nia Gumbs! Nia is an underwriting intern in the NYC office. She is from the beautiful St. Thomas in the US Virgin Islands and attends St. John’s University.With this internship, Nia is looking forward to gaining experience outside the classroom, honing skills that will directly translate to her future career in insurance and meeting strong role models. She chose OneBeacon because of the company’s noticeably caring environment and because she found that our values aligned with her own. Nia enjoys playing the violin and hopes to visit Malaysia one day. When asked what television show she last watched, she said Cake Wars on Food Network!
Please also welcome Anders Beyers! Anders is an actuarial intern in the Plymouth office. He studies at the University of St. Thomas in Minnesota, but is originally from the small town of Hudson, Wisconsin. During his time at OneBeacon, he is hoping to gain a better understanding of what he is passionate about within the field of insurance. That means challenging himself and learning from his team of experts at OneBeacon. In fact, the people he met at OneBeacon were what attracted him to the company in the first place, as he quickly grew to admire their friendliness, passion and intelligence. Some fun things to know about Anders are that he would love to go to a soccer game in Argentina, his favorite book is The Godfather by Mario Puzo and he has a unique middle name of Thor.
