National Hispanic Heritage Month is a month-long recognition of this community’s contributions across the United States. It begins September 15 to align with many Central American countries’ independence dates and honor the resilience and determination of this community.
Today, the Hispanic community makes up 19% or roughly one-fifth of the total U.S. population (according to the U.S. Census Bureau).
