The International Day of Persons with Disabilities

On December 3, we join millions around the globe to celebrate the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD). This year’s theme is “United in action to rescue and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals for, with and by persons with disabilities.” IDPD is an opportunity to learn from the lived experiences of persons with disabilities, raise awareness of the critical challenges they face, and draw attention to the benefits of an inclusive and accessible society for all.

In support, we are sharing profiles featuring the members of this community — Bryan Hurwitz from our Specialty Property team and Magen MacDougall from our Subrogation team (click on their names to view).

Today, an estimated 1.3 billion people live with disabilities worldwide including 1 in 4 adults (27%) in the United States. This group includes people with hearing, vision, cognitive, walking, self-care, or independent living difficulties, whether “seen” or “unseen.”
