Last week, our DEI Council gathered in Boston for a two-day workshop. The goals were to reflect on our DEI 2022 accomplishments and consider our 2023 priorities. To gain perspective on parallel efforts across our industry, the Council spent time with three DEI specialists representing various facets of the property-casualty markets:
- Sherita Hardy – Amwins Brokerage
- Tamra Johnson – American Property-Casualty Insurance Association (APCIA)
- Mari Marques-Thomas – Crum & Forster
The panel enabled learning about similar approaches (e.g., establishing employee networks, inclusive training), while sharing new ideas. Looking ahead, this cross-industry forum agreed on the importance of keeping DEI top of mind and relevant, as well as continued industry collaboration.
