Underwriting interns Eric Benson and Jakob Krull visited the Financial Security Bank in Albertville, Minnesota with their colleagues from the Financial Services team. Eric and Jakob spent a few weeks with the FS team learning about their industry, and to get some field experience, they received a tour of the facility from President Robert Bauman.
“Eric and I thought the bank tour was a unique way to apply our education and experiences with OneBeacon Financial Services in a real life setting with one of our insureds,” said Jacob Krull. They found the experience related closely to their work at OneBeacon this summer.
Additionally, Eric and Jakob along with some of the other interns attended a field trip to the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis. During this field trip, the interns learned about the history of the central banking system in the U.S. as well as the bank’s many functions. They were even able to see the main currency vault, in which millions of dollars are inspected every day.
Overall, the interns have benefited greatly from these experiences!
