Congratulations to our colleague Patty Rehr, who is celebrating her 40-year work anniversary this month! Based in Pennsylvania (but reporting through our Salem, Virginia office), Patty works as a QA Analyst with our IT department.
Patty began her career as a file clerk in the Flood Department of General Accident in 1977. At the time, she was a high school senior working as part of a co-op program and gaining some real world working experience. After graduation, she continued to work full-time processing claims applications and, over the years, trained to be an Underwriting Assistant and then an Underwriter of commercial packages and specialty projects. Patty remained on the underwriting side of the business for 25 years.
Over the past 40 years Patty has seen our company take many forms. When the company underwent a significant change to become OneBeacon Insurance Group, she decided to make a change of her own. She applied for a job in our IT department, where she has remained for the past 10 years testing underwriting systems.
“I’ve enjoyed all of my many roles over the many years,” says Patty. “I never had a desire to work anywhere else. I’ve met a lot of very nice people and made a lot of friends along the way.”
Please join us in congratulating Patty on achieving such a significant milestone!
