Final Departure for Travel’s Rick MacKenzie

After nearly 17 years with the company, Rick MacKenzie, Travel Leader, will retire on June 30. Over the years, Rick has made countless work-related trips possible for our employees and helped transform OneBeacon into the travel-friendly company it is today.

From the travel program in 1999 to Travel and Transport in 2012, Rick has led his department through numerous transitions. In 2002, he began overseeing travel for the White Mountains team based in Hanover, N.H., including leading a program to keep track of flights.

Earlier this week, members of various OneBeacon office locations gathered for Rick’s send-off celebrations. The Canton community hosted a breakfast for Rick, while members of various offices held a lunch for Rick at Sofia restaurant in West Roxbury, Mass. At the events (pictured below), coworkers celebrated Rick’s many achievements and the friendships they’d formed.

Though he has no special plans for retirement yet, we hope Rick enjoys a relaxing summer and reflects fondly on his time here at OneBeacon. “I enjoyed working at OneBeacon because each day was very different with unique challenges,” says Rick. “Traveling to our other locations and meeting people I worked with day to day was also a highlight.”

As Rick departs for his next journey, please join us in wishing him the best!
