OneBeacon Government Risks recently attended the Public Risk Management Association’s (PRIMA) national conference in Tampa, FL from June 2-6. OBGR exhibited and presented a session at the conference. Dennis Molenaar, Vice President of Risk Control, and Kenny Smith, Risk Management Specialist, presented on Monday, June 3, and Wednesday, June 5, 2013.
Last week, we were in New York City for business and made a little time to meet with the Insurance Information Institute (I.I.I.) team. Did you know that OneBeacon has been a member since 2001 and that Mike Miller served as their Board Chairman recently? (And our legacy operations were active members as well!)
What is the I.I.I. anyway? Their mission is simple – to improve public understanding of insurance – what it does and how it works. Think of them as the voice of the industry, relied upon by media and researchers alike. And as a member company, we are able to use their resources, repurpose their communications and learn from their staff of experts.
I.I.I. CEO Bob Hartwig is their most well-known personality, whose ability to present 100+ animated slides in 45 minutes is pretty amazing. In fact, we’ve had him participate in employee and producer meetings over the years as well.
