Members of our IT and HR Recruiting teams recently attended a career fair held at University of Massachusetts (UMass) Boston. HR Recruiting’s Amanda Wall and IT’s Joe Damaris and Dimitri Kalogerakis met with college students studying computer science and information systems. Their goal was to recruit candidates for an IT Developer Trainee role and IT internship opportunity within our Canton-based IT group.
Members of our Actuarial and Human Resources teams recently attended an actuarial career fair held at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis. Now in their second year exhibiting at the event, the OneBeacon group included Actuarial’s Brad Koenen, Megann Kellom, FCAS, and Lars Johnson, ACAS, along with Senior Human Resource Manager Michelle Martin.
This summer, our Farmington office members welcomed four college students to join their summer internship program. This is the fourth year that our Connecticut-based team has hosted the program, offering a professional environment and experience for East Coast college students.
As with any organization, over the years many of our OneBeacon colleagues have moved on to other career opportunities. We are proud of all of our OneBeacon “alumni” and, very often, they keep in touch, a testament to the value former employees place on their time spent with our company. And sometimes we even welcome employees back! In fact, our recruiting team is pleased to share that 12 former employees have rejoined the company within the last year!
In an earlier Spotlight post, our Recruiting team shared that the employee referral program is our company’s most significant source of new colleagues.
