OneBeacon Holiday Donation Results

This holiday season our animated holiday e-card featured a very special charitable giving component. Those who received the card were able to cast their vote among three worthy nonprofit organizations selected to receive a share of $30,000 from the OneBeacon Charitable Trust.

After nearly 1,000 votes from OneBeacon producers, vendors and partners, the tally for allocating the 2012 OneBeacon holiday gift donation is in! The OneBeacon Charitable Trust will be making the following donations:

Red Cross: $10,500

American Cancer Society: $13,000

City Year: $6,500

Happy New Year!

Canton Toys for Tots Drive a Success!

Congratulations to the Canton office for collecting more than 180 toys for tots in their recent December drive.  Five boxes full of toys were dropped off at the local police station earlier this week.

A big thank you goes out to all who participated and a special thanks to the working team (pictured below) and the 150 Royall Street facilities team for all their hard work and support on the drive.

Hurricane Heroes; Center Stage- Linda Schultz; OBPI

Hurricane Sandy’s high winds, heavy rains and sweeping damage wrecked havoc on New Jersey and New York this fall. Our New Jersey and New York City offices were closed for more than a week, and our colleagues in those areas faced very personal and local damage to their cities, towns and properties. But despite these hard times, our employees still found time, resources and volunteers to help out their friends, colleagues, and even strangers in need.

Canton office supports troops

In October, the Canton office held a Halloween candy drive to support Operation Gratitude. Operation Gratitude annually sends 100,000 care packages filled with snacks, entertainment items and personal letters to U.S. Service Members deployed in hostile regions, with the mission of lifting morale and expressing appreciation to our Armed Forces.

Canton employees contributed to this mission by donating 86 pounds of candy. Thanks to all who participated!

IMU volunteers at Pine Street Inn

Recently the Boston IMU office participated in the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation Week of Giving.  The group (with two Marketing & Communications tag-alongs!) volunteered their time on October 17th and 18th at the Pine Street Inn in Boston.

The group worked in the Inn kitchen, chopping vegetables, making sandwiches, prepping meat and generally helping to prepare for the 2,000 meals a day that the Pine Street Inn serves.
