Plymouth Celebrates Bike to Work Day

Earlier this month, a few members from our Finance and Legal teams in our Plymouth office participated in Bike to Work Day! In conjunction with Bike Month and Minnesota’s Bike to Work Week, Bike to Work Day is a bike-centric day to celebrate the activity, whether you’re an avid cyclist or a beginner. Many US cities and states participate in events like this, as it’s a great way to bring people together.

As you can see in the photos below, the team was energized and excited to be at work! Who needs caffeine in the morning when you can just bike to work? John Treacy rode 38 miles – from Stillwater to Plymouth and met up with Brandon Kjelland part way, finishing the ride to the office together.  Chris Brandt commuted over 20 miles on his bike.  John, Chris and Brandon rode through some very rainy weather but still enjoyed the challenge of the commute by bike.  The other 3 riders opted for a better weather day to participate in riding to work. Karen Braun rode 16.5 miles that morning and halfway through she met up with Stephanie Moseley-Cummings and they both rode in together. Annie Ly and Jim Jordan both rode about 10 miles from the Calhoun area.  They met up at the end of the day for their commute back.

Although choosing an alternate commute like biking can be challenging because it requires extensive planning, it’s still enjoyable and fun. Karen said she’s rode to work in the past, but plans to do it at least a few times more before the summer ends!

Awesome–virtual high-five from a fair weather bike commuter in the Farmington office. Keep me posted if there’s an interest in observing Bike to Work Day or other sustainability events across the enterprise.
